How a job
actually works.

Custom printing has a few rules worth knowing before you start, mostly about proofs and approval. None of this is unusual for the trade, and none of it is designed to catch you out.

01

Prices and
quotes

Your contract is with 6861351 Canada Corporation, a company incorporated in Canada with its registered office at 141 - Sage Valley Close, Calgary, AB T3R 0E3, Canada, trading as Regalo Print. We also keep an address at 101 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10016, United States.

The prices shown on product pages are for a common starting specification: a stated size, stock, quantity and finish. They are a reference point, not a fixed offer.

Your actual price comes from a quote, because changing the size, stock, quantity, color count or finishing changes what the job costs to make. A quote we have sent you is the price we will honor for that specification.

An order begins when you accept a quote and we confirm it.

Payment is due in full before your job goes into production. We accept credit card and bank transfer, and we will send you the details when you accept the quote. Nothing is charged through this website, so you will never be asked to type card details into a form here.

02

Proofs and
sign-off

Every custom order includes a free proof before production. Nothing goes to press until you approve it. This is the most important thing on this page.

When you approve a proof, that file is what we print. Checking spelling, names, dates, phone numbers, prices and layout is your call at that stage, because after approval those details are locked and the job is in production.

If color matters to the job, ask for a printed hard-copy proof rather than approving from a screen. A monitor shows color with light and a press puts ink on paper, and the two do not always agree.

03

Artwork
you supply

By sending us artwork you are telling us you have the right to print it: that you own it, or you have a license for it, and that reproducing it will not infringe anyone else's trademark or copyright. We take that on trust and cannot check it for you.

Print files need more resolution than screen files. If what you send is too low-resolution or set up in a way that will not reproduce well, we will tell you before we print rather than after.

Free design assistance is included on custom orders. If you do not have artwork ready, send us the content and specifications and our team will prepare something for your approval.

04

Turnaround
and dates

Turnaround depends on the product and the finishing you choose, and we confirm a firm timeline when we quote.

Production time starts when you approve the proof, not when you first get in touch. A job that waits three days for approval finishes three days later, which is worth knowing if you are printing to an event date.

Shipping time sits on top of production time. If you have a hard deadline, tell us at the quote stage and we will work backwards from it.

05

Color and
quantity tolerance

Printing is a physical process with normal variation in it. Color can shift slightly between one run and the next, and a CMYK build of a color will not match a Pantone ink exactly. Variation within commercial tolerance is not a defect. If you need an exact color, specify a Pantone and we will quote it.

Custom runs are also produced with a small quantity tolerance, so a run can finish very slightly over or under the ordered figure.

We aim to deliver the exact quantity you ordered, and on most runs that is what arrives. On longer runs, where the process makes an exact count impractical, the finished quantity can vary by up to 5% either way and we bill for what we actually deliver. If you need a guaranteed minimum, because the job is going into a set number of packs or mailings, say so at the quote stage and we will run to it.

06

Shipping

We ship across the United States and Canada, and internationally on request. Shipping options and costs are confirmed alongside your quote rather than added as a surprise at the end.

Delivery dates given by a carrier are estimates. Once a job leaves our floor on schedule, the carrier's timing is outside our control, though we will help you chase anything that goes astray.

Check your delivery when it arrives. If something is damaged in transit, tell us quickly and keep the packaging, because carriers require it to settle a claim.

07

Canceling
an order

Before you approve the proof, you can cancel and you will not be charged for production. Any design work already done may be billable, and we will tell you if that applies rather than springing it on you.

After proof approval, materials are committed and the job is on a press schedule, so cancellation is limited by how far along it is. Call us as early as you can and we will do what is still possible.

What happens when a job goes wrong is set out on our returns and refunds page.

08

The
legal part

We are responsible for printing your job to the specification you approved. Our liability for a job is limited to the value of that job, which is the standard position in the printing trade and the basis these prices are set on.

Nothing here is intended to limit rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.

We may update these terms as the business changes. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published when you placed it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, which is where the company is registered.
